Stephen P. Lagoy Selected by the ABA to Serve in National Mediation Competition

Stephen P. Lagoy, a partner at Unruh Turner Burke and Frees, P.C., was selected by the American Bar Association Section of Dispute Resolution to serve as a mediator in the Representation in Mediation National Competition held in Washington, D.C. on April 18 and 19. The competition brought together teams of students from law schools around the country who qualified for the National Competition by winning at the regional level. The competition was held in conjunction with the 14th annual spring conference of the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution. Lagoy is co-chair of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the Chester County Bar Association and is a mediator and neutral arbitrator in the firm's West Chester office.

David Frees Speaks To The State Wide Pennsylvania Council Of Mediators On Improved Communication, Persuasion and Neuro Science in Mediation

The Pennsylvania Council Of Mediators recently held it’s annual statewide conference in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where Unruh, Turner Burke and Frees partner David Frees presented the key note address on Neuro-Science and Mediation.

Frees, who chairs the firm's Trust, Estates and Wealth Preservation Section, is also a nationally known speaker on the topics including Estate Planning, Mediation, and Persuasion and Influence. [read more]

 

Unruh Turner Burke & Frees Raises Money to Prevent Child Abuse and Fight Cancer

On February 11, 2012, Thomas Wilson and James Dalton, attorneys at Unruh, Turner, Burke & Frees, PC, helped raise money to prevent child abuse and battle cancer by attending the inaugural Romance in the Dance Valentines Gala which Unruh Turner Burke & Frees sponsored.  This event was held at the Desmond Hotel in Malvern, Pennsylvania.  The event featured cocktails, dinner, a silent auction and open dancing, as well as the opportunity to dance with local ballroom professionals. With over one hundred attendees and nine featured dance couples, the event raised over $10,000 to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Exchange Club of West Chester Child Abuse Prevention Center.
