Unruh Turner Burke & Frees is proud to announce the recipients of the 2024 Unruh Turner Burke & Frees Scholarships. The firm recently awarded $1,000 scholarships to outstanding graduates from West Chester East High School, Bayard Rustin High School, and B. Reed Henderson High School to support their pursuit of higher education.
The Firm has a long-standing tradition of awarding scholarships to students from each of West Chester Area School District’s three high schools. This Scholarship Program allows the firm to champion local students and contribute to the educational pursuits of the next generation.
Students can apply for scholarship awards through their respective guidance counselors in early spring before graduation. Unruh Turner Burke & Frees requires that award recipients have at least a 3.0 GPA and plan to attend a four-year college. Beyond that, each high school has its own process for recipient selection.
This year’s recipients are (pictured below left to right):
- Madison Miller from Bayard Rustin High School. Madison will be attending Penn State this fall. She is currently undecided on her major but has an interest in the sciences. Madison is also committed to Penn State for Track & Field and Cross Country.
- Kaitlyn Evans from B. Reed Henderson High School. Kaitlyn is pursuing an engineering degree at Purdue University.
- Kathryn (Katie) Mina from West Chester East High School. Katie plans to attend the College of William and Mary, majoring in International Relations on the Pre-Law track with a minor in Psychology. She will also be rowing on their club rowing team, which competes at the D1 level. Katie aspires to be a lawyer for the CIA or another government agency in the future.
Unruh Turner Burke & Frees extends its heartfelt congratulations to Madison, Kaitlyn, and Katie, and wishes them all the best in their academic and athletic endeavors.
