Lauren A. Nehra

Lauren A. Nehra is a dedicated and compassionate litigator who takes great pride in providing superior client service as she represents clients in various trust and estate litigation matters. Lauren’s practice focuses on litigation involving estates, trusts, guardianships, and powers of attorney, including all forms of estate and trust disputes, will contests, surcharge and removal actions, breach of fiduciary duty cases, interpretation issues, and other fiduciary matters before the Orphans’ Court Division of the Court of Common Pleas and the Register of Wills. Further, Lauren is regularly appointed by the Chester County Orphans’ Court to represent individuals involved in the adult guardianship process.

Lauren earned her Bachelor of Science from West Chester University, where she graduated summa cum laude, was president of the Pre-Law Society, and served on the University’s Judicial Board. Lauren went on to obtain her paralegal certificate from Widener Law’s Legal Education Institute in 2012, and spent the next several years working as a legal assistant and paralegal for several different firms and government agencies in Pennsylvania and Delaware.

In December 2019, Lauren earned her law degree from Widener University Delaware Law School, magna cum laude. Lauren attended law school as an evening-division student while working full-time during the day as a paralegal and law clerk; first in the Criminal Felony Division of the Delaware Department of Justice and then with a civil litigation/ personal injury defense firm in Wilmington. While in law school, Lauren was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society, where she was a several-time finalist, earning multiple awards including best oral advocate. Additionally, Lauren was a member of Phi Alpha Delta’s Mock Trial Team, the Alternative Dispute Resolution Society, and served as the Vice President of the Sports and Entertainment Law Association.

Prior to joining Unruh Turner Burke & Frees, Lauren spent time in private practice in the litigation and estate departments of a Chester County law firm where she focused on Orphans’ Court litigation, guardianships, estate and fiduciary litigation, breach of contract and business disputes, landlord/tenant matters, and general civil litigation. Lauren has also spent time with a law firm focused on representing municipalities, police departments, and correctional facilities and while in law school, clerked with the Delaware Attorney General’s Office, where she worked in both the Criminal and Family Divisions and represented the State at hearings in the New Castle County, Delaware Court of Common Pleas.

While not presently practicing outside of Pennsylvania, Lauren is licensed to practice law in Delaware, as well.

Lauren resides in Chester County and is an active member of the Chester County Bar Association, where she currently serves as the Chair-Elect of the Young Lawyers’ Division, and is a Director on the Bar Association’s Board. Lauren also sits on the Board of Directors of the Chester County Food Bank, Chester County’s central hunger relief organization. When time permits, Lauren enjoys volunteering with various non-profits and is active in the local chapter of Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).
