Unruh Turner Burke & Frees is proud to announce that Attorney John K. Fiorillo, a seasoned commercial litigator and member of the firm’s Executive Committee, has been appointed to serve on the Civil Rules Committee for the Court of Common Pleas, Chester County, Pennsylvania that has recently been reconvened by the President Judge of Chester County.
The Civil Rules Committee has been tasked with reviewing the current local rules and making recommendations concerning revisions or additions to local procedures within the Chester County court system. The Committee is comprised of judges, court administrators, law clerks and practicing attorneys. John Fiorillo’s appointment by the President Judge reflects his longstanding dedication and experience, and his contributions to the legal community in Chester County.
John brings with him nearly four decades of legal experience. As Co-Chair of the Litigation Department and Head of the Creditor’s Rights practice at Unruh Turner Burke & Frees, John represents a wide array of clients including banks, financial institutions, commercial landlords, and leasing companies in high-stakes business litigation, real estate tax assessment appeals, and creditor’s rights matters. His streamlined and practical approach to litigation, combined with his unwavering focus on client needs, has earned him a reputation for responsiveness and effectiveness.
Throughout his career, John has been consistently recognized for his legal excellence. He has been named a Pennsylvania “Super Lawyer” every year since 2010 and was acknowledged as a “Top Lawyer” by Main Line Today magazine. John’s track record of success extends to state and federal courts, including landmark cases such as Downingtown Area School District v. Chester County Board of Assessment Appeals, where his advocacy before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court re-established and further defined the concept of uniformity in real estate tax assessments in Pennsylvania.
In addition to his legal practice, John has recently held leadership positions in the Chester County Bar Association and the Chester County Bar Foundation. His appointment to the Civil Rules Committee further solidifies his standing as a trusted leader in the Chester County legal community.
