Unruh Turner Burke & Frees is pleased to be able to support Girls Spark, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering middle and high school girls.
The mission of Girls Spark is “to provide a safe, supportive, and empowering environment” where young women “can learn, collaborate, and overcome adversity in facing today’s social issues.” Lead by both a teen leadership board and an adult board, Girls Spark’s programming is aimed at igniting awareness, overcoming adversity, and inspiring others through workshops, summits, and school clubs.
As a law firm committed to community service initiatives and education through various scholarships to local high school seniors, Unruh Turner Burke & Frees was pleased to support Girls Spark’s mission by providing pro bono legal services to assist Girls Spark in initiating its school-based programming. Asha Steele, an associate at the firm, working alongside her colleague Daniel LePera, played a pivotal role in facilitating the relationship. Her dedication to supporting young women’s empowerment aligns perfectly with the firm’s commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
When asked about her work to help Girls Spark, Asha said: “I was honored to have the opportunity to use my legal knowledge to provide a valuable tool for a non-profit like Girls Spark. Empowering more girls to overcome life’s challenges to reach their full potential is a cause I feel very connected to.”
Unruh Turner Burke & Frees is a proud Diamond Sponsor of the upcoming Girls Spark 2024 Summit. This summit offers a valuable opportunity for young women to come together, learn, grow, and connect with women speakers from across the area.
